How do I apply for a Teacher Training Bursary?

In August, you will be sent a welcome pack by the School of Education. As part of this, you will receive the details of how to apply for a teacher training bursary from the Department for Education (DfE).

You will be provided with instructions regarding how to apply as well as a link to an online application form that you will need to complete.

When you have completed and submitted the online form and are normally registered, we can determine your eligibility for a bursary and if applicable, send you an email confirming your bursary entitlement and payment schedule directly to your University email address.

SKE students should note that they may be entitled to an SKE Bursary of £175 per week. Such students should also complete the application form given to them. Eligibility for their DfE Bursary will be assessed in any subsequent year of study. At that point any SKE student found to be ineligible for the DfE bursary will be asked to repay their SKE bursary in full.
