Will there be an increased number of exam weeks?
No. As now, there will be a total of five weeks that make up the assessment period. In the new structure, however, you will no longer have to sit all your exams at the end of the year. Instead, the assessment period has been split to take place at the end of each semester allowing you to complete your exams (or other assessed work) closer to the point when you were taught that module.
There will be two weeks of exams in January and three weeks in May / June. This pattern takes account of those programmes where external requirements mean that some modules will still be taught across the academic year.
