Can the University help me if I am in financial difficulty?

Yes.

The University operates the Student Support Fund (SSF) to assist students who are experiencing genuine and unavoidable financial difficulties and are struggling with their living costs. The SSF is a discretionary grant, offering support of up to £2,500 in an academic year which does not need to be paid back. If you think you are eligible for an award you will need to complete an application form and supply supporting evidence. Applications can be submitted at any point within the academic year and generally take up to 4 weeks to process. Please note that all applications are means-tested and therefore you may be unsuccessful.

You may wish to use the SSF Eligibility Checker to quickly determine if you would be eligible for an award.
