How much funding can I request from the bursary schemes?
The amount you can request varies depending on which bursary you apply for. There are four strands to the Work Experience Bursaries:
The UK Professional and International bursaries typically provide up to a maximum of £800 to individual applicants. The Research bursary provides up to £500. The Gateway bursary offers up to a standard £780 payment; if you can demonstrate a valid requirement for additional funds (which must be associated with the work experience opportunity that you will be undertaking), payments of up to £2,000 may be made.
The Global Challenge programme is a little different, giving you the opportunity to apply for international internships sourced and funded by the University of Birmingham.
