If I started as an EU student - with the benefits that are attached to that status - will I continue as such until the end of my studies, or will my status change even if I am in the middle of my degree? (Both for undergraduate and graduate courses)

If you are a current EU student or apply to start a course in 2019/20 or 2020/21 there will not be any changes to your loan eligibility or fee status. This guarantee will apply for the full duration of your course, even if the course finishes after the UK has left the EU. The UK Government has also confirmed that this will be the case in England whether or not the UK leaves the EU with a deal. As yet, there has been no decision on either fee status or student support for those planning to arrive in the UK to study in the academic year 2021/22.

The longer-term implications for EU students who want to apply to study in the UK after the UK has left the EU will depend on the outcome of the negotiations and what kind of relationship the UK agrees with the EU. We are working across the Higher Education sector to urge UK Government to provide clarity on EU students' fees and access to student funding support beyond the 2020/21 academic year.
