Do you provide a document legalisation (apostille) service?

We do not currently offer a document legalisation service.

If you need to legalise your University of Birmingham degree for use overseas (this is sometimes known as an 'apostille certificate'), you will need to do this through the Legalisation Office of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. There is information on the requirements available on the Government website.

If you have engaged the services of a solicitor to notarise your documents, your solicitor may need to contact the University to confirm your qualification is genuine. They can do this by emailing references@contacts.bham.ac.uk and attaching the information they would like to verify (e.g. your degree certificate), along with signed consent from you, authorising us to release the information to them.
