Can I use the library whilst I am on a leave of absence?
Whilst you are on leave of absence, you will have no active student registration status for the period of your absence, and as a result, your library access will be limited. However, there are two routes for you to continue to use the libraries and their physical collections.
- UoB Library allows entrance to members of the public (maximum ten visits over 12 months and this does not include borrowing books). The full details can be found at https://intranet.birmingham.ac.uk/as/libraryservices/library/libraries-and-opening-hours/membership/visitors.aspx
- You can liaise with your Programme Administrator or your academic tutor to request that your library access be extended until a specific date. That means that you will be allowed to entry to the campus libraries with your student card, and you could continue to be able to borrow books, until that date.
Please note that once you are on leave of absence, you will not be able to use the electronic collections (such as e-books, e-journals and online databases).
