Can you send my transcript to the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC)?

If you are applying for postgraduate studies in Law, particularly in the United States or Canada, the institution you are applying to may ask you to use the Law School Admissions Council's Credential Assembly Service. For information on the Credential Assembly Service, please see LSAC-CAS.

As part of the LSAC process, they will normally require University of Birmingham to send them a copy of your transcript, along with a cover form which they provide (headed "transcript request form"). Unfortunately LSAC do not currently accept these documents electronically from us, so you would need to order a printed transcript.

If your course commenced in 2002 or later, please follow these steps to order a transcript for LSAC:

  1. Apply to LSAC, according to LSAC's instructions, and pay any fees they require directly to LSAC.
  2. Make sure you have an electronic copy of LSAC's "transcript request form" with your personal details and LSAC account number on it. (LSAC should provide this.)
  3. Go to the Secure Documents website (Verify), click "student and graduate login", and log in with your university login details. These login details will still work beyond completion, however, you must enter your email address in the format abc123@alumni.bham.ac.uk if you are no longer a current student. If you no longer have your login details, or you have any problems logging in, please log a call with our IT Service Desk to retrieve/reset your details.
  4. Click on "View Secure Documents".
  5. Click the small grey menu box displayed on your qualification - a menu will appear.
  6. Click 'Order Documents'.
  7. Select the quantity of documents required using the drop-down menus - normally, 1 transcript. (If the "transcript" option does not appear at this point, please click the "contact us" link at the bottom of this page to report this to us.)
  8. When it asks for a "reprint reason", please select "other". A box will then appear where you can add additional instructions. Please type in here "Please enclose LSAC form sent by email, and stamp and sign the envelope flap."
  9. Click 'Add to basket', then click "checkout".
  10. Check the items you are ordering are correct, and click 'Next'.
  11. On the 'Billing' tab, enter your billing address, and click 'Next'.
  12. On the 'Delivery' tab, enter LSAC's office address as the delivery address. Click 'Next'.
  13. On the 'Delivery Options' tab, select your preferred delivery option.
  14. On the 'Confirm' tab, check all the details, and click "submit." You will then be prompted to enter your payment details and complete your order.
  15. Once your order has been completed, please send an email to verifyforms@contacts.bham.ac.uk with a copy of your LSAC transcript request form attached. Please include your order number (beginning with "DOC") in the subject line of the email.

Please allow up to 10 working days for your order to be processed and dispatched, and extra time for delivery, depending on the delivery method you selected.
