How do I enter a new home address that is in the UK?
A home address is your permanent place of residence and where you go back to when you are not in your term-time accommodation.
International Students should provide their home address in their home country. All students must have an active home address record in Online Registration.
After completing Online Registration you can add a new address via My Details.
Adding a new home address
- On the Address details page in Online Registration click on the 'Edit' button on the Home Address panel
- Click on 'Add another home address'.
- From the 'Country' drop down menu, select the country where your home address is located.
- If you have selected United Kingdom from the 'Country' drop down list, a post code field will appear. Enter a valid UK Post Code in a recognised format, e.g. B1 3LQ or B12 7PZ or WV32 7PS, and click 'Find address'.
- The 'Addresses found' drop-down menu will contain a selection of addresses associated with that post code. Choose your address from the selection presented.
- Valid from date: From the date picker, select a date that the address is valid from. This is a mandatory field.
- Valid until date: From the date picker select a date that the address is valid until. If you select a date earlier than or the same as the 'Valid from date', an error message will be displayed. Note: You will need to select a future date to be able to save your address entry.
See FAQ 'How do I enter a term-time address that is the same as my home address?' to use your home address as your term-time address.
