Overview of Impact Internships

The Impact Internships scheme is open to current final year students, as well as graduates from the last two years.

The University of Birmingham is working with start-ups based in a number of innovation, research and creative hubs to create internship opportunities for students. This internship programme provides students with the opportunity to help shape and deliver the strategic plans of some of the most innovative start-ups across the Midlands.  These businesses will have less than 250 employees.

Summer 2021 internships

Internships will last 20 working days and can be worked part-time or full-time, dependent on the business needs and the successful candidate's availability.

The successful intern will receive a £1,000 bursary for the opportunity, which will be paid directly from the University.  Please note that you do not need to apply to the work experience bursaries for these particular opportunities.

Internship opportunities will be available to apply to in spring 2021 for over the summer vacation. If you want to receive an alert for when these opportunities become available, register your interest below.

“This internship has given me more of an insight into what needs to be done in terms of setting up a business and because of this opportunity I would I say I feel more confident if I was to go and do that.”
