If you lose your passport outside the UK

You should try and keep important documents like your passport safe whilst travelling abroad. However in the unlikely event that this goes missing you need to do the following:

1. Report the loss of your passport to the police and obtain a police report (translated into English)
2. Report the loss of your passport to your country's embassy or issuing authority to get a replacement passport
3. Update your UKVI account with your new passport details
4. Update your passport in the online Right to Study system

You should notify the International Student Team (IST) if you have lost your passport whilst overseas so we can advise you on any further steps required.
