Meet your CAL Careers Network team

Meet the staff working in the College of Arts and Law careers team. Click on their names to view their LinkedIn profiles and connect with them.

Monira Ahmed - Careers Consultant

Manager of the CAL team and overall employability strategy for the College working closely with academic and professional services partners. Careers lead for School of Languages, Cultures, Art History and Music (LCAHM) and School of History and Cultures (SHAC). I also provide advice and guidance for all Arts and Law students.

Mark Birmingham - Careers Adviser

I provide advice and guidance for all arts and law students, delivering projects, events and workshops across the College. Lead Careers Adviser for the Law School, School of English, Drama and Creative Studies (EDACS) and School of Philosophy, Theology and Religion (PTR).

Sarah Garner - Internship Officer

I support students to find work experience, working with employers to set up bespoke internships, as part of the B Experienced Internships programme.

 

Lesley Griffiths - Placements Officer

I oversee work experience placements that are based within the curriculum in the College. Coordinator of the undergraduate Professional Skills Module. I work with employers to provide bespoke placements and support those students who are seeking their own opportunities.

Sophie Bates - Trainee Careers Adviser

I am currently a trainee careers advisor for both the CAL and LES team. Whilst I work to gain my PG Cert, I am providing advice and guidance to students to help prepare them effectively for making career decisions, exploring their career options, making applications, and advising them through successful outcomes.
