Be Experienced: Turn curiosity into career confidence

As we start the new year, now is the perfect time to focus on experiences that will shape your future.

Whether you’re still figuring out your options or ready to act, Be Experienced is designed to help you gain practical experience and feel more confident about what comes next.

Work experience can look different for everyone. From volunteering and part-time work to internships, job shadowing, and programmes like The Birmingham Award, there are plenty of ways to develop skills, explore career paths, and strengthen your CV while you study.

Throughout February, Be Experienced brings together opportunities, advice, and events to help you try things out, meet employers, and take meaningful steps towards your future career, whatever that may be.

  • Glow Up: Find your path: Join us on the 25th of February to hear from successful UoB graduates who will share their journeys, insights, and practical tips on finding your path and developing essential soft skills along the way. Make sure you stick around for networking with the speakers and a free LinkedIn headshot after the talks.

  • Get an internship: If you have no or limited work experience, you could be eligible to apply for our B-Experienced internship programme.  If you want to find out more about work experience and how it can benefit you, view our Work Experience webpages.
