China Placement Year Programme 2026

The China Placement Year Programme 2026 offers University of Birmingham students the opportunity to undertake a year-long industry placement in China, gaining substantial professional experience in world-leading research institutes and innovative companies.

This programme is delivered in partnership with the Jiangsu Industry Technology Research Institute (JITRI) and the National Innovation Centre par Excellence (NICE), under the strategic partnership framework between the University of Birmingham, JITRI, and NICE on international talent cultivation. The partnership builds on over a decade of collaboration between the institutions and provides students with access to a broad network of employers in China.

Placements are offered through a competitive two-stage selection process. The University of Birmingham will review applications and shortlist candidates.
