PGR Film Club

Here comes the sun, and your July dose of PGR Film Club, hosted by UGS Scholar Katrina and regular attendee Matthew Bruce.

Come spy with us as PGRs from all departments come together to watch the French comedy box-office sensation, ‘OSS 117: Lost in Rio’ starring comedian-turned-Hollywood actor, Jean Dujardin (of ‘The Artist’ fame). Set in the late 1960s, this film shows Dujardin playing hapless French secret agent, Hubert Bonisseur de La Bath (a.k.a. Agent OSS 117), who is dispatched to Brazil to retrieve a microfilm bearing a list of French collaborators during the Second World War, and finds himself teamed up with the Mossad in their quest to bring a Neo-Nazi to trial for war crimes.

With many a faux-pas along the way, this comedy (very much a riff on the original James Bond films) will make you alternately cringe and cry with laughter! So Diet Another Day as you come and join us for pizza, snacks, drinks, and some classic ‘comédie française’. À bientôt! (N.B. the film will be shown with English subtitles).
