Join us for our second PGR Film Club led by UGS Scholar Katrina! This month we’ll be focusing on Remembrance Day, also known as Armistice Day, which marks the day World War 1 ended. This is celebrated annually on the second Sunday of November with church ceremonies and war memorials across the UK.

PGRs will be coming together to watch The Imitation Game, directed by Morten Tyldum. The film set in World War 2 and based on a true story, follows Alan Turing, a British mathematician, who joins the cryptography team to decipher the German enigma code. With the help of his fellow mathematicians, he builds a machine to crack the codes which ultimately helps save lives. We’ll be going back in time to look at the challenges faced during the War, reflecting on this key historical moment.

Film club is a space for cosy relaxation, fun and discussion. We'll also have pizza, blankets and comfy beanbags, snacks, and soft drinks!
