PGT Campus Social

The University Graduate School supports postgraduates at the University of Birmingham. We offer a variety of academic, social and wellbeing activities throughout the year, as well as career development opportunities. We're running events throughout Welcome which are open to all postgraduates – including specific events for postgraduate taught students (PGT) and postgraduate researchers (PGR). 

Welcome all incoming postgraduate taught (PGT) students!

Join us on the University of Birmingham's beautiful Green Heart for a COVID-safe, on-campus social for PGT students. We’ll have some optional games available to break the ice, or you can just mix and mingle – either way come along for a relaxed space to meet some new faces!

There will also be the chance to ask any questions you have about starting as a PGT student to reps from the UGS, and to some previous UoB PGT students.

Please note:

• We want everyone who attends the social to feel comfortable and relaxed, and will therefore encourage all attendees to wear a mask when moving around the space, unless they are exempt.
• The social will be taking place in an open-sided marquee surrounded by grass, so that there is good ventilation and you can distance yourselves as you wish. There will also be some benches available.
• We will be limiting the number of people in the space to avoid any crowding. If there is space, we are happy to accommodate extra attendees on the day, but to ensure your place please book ahead at the registration link, and come along to the time slot you have selected.
• If you test positive and/or need to self-isolate over the event, please cancel your place so that it can be used by someone else.

PGT Essentials welcomes students starting the following postgraduate courses in 2021-22: MA, MSc, MBA, MEd, LLM, MPH, Maths SKE, MPA, PG Affiliate, PG Certificate, PG Dip Ed, PG Diploma, and PGCE.
