UGS PGR Scholarships Application Workshop
- Dates
- Thursday 1 August 2024 (13:00-14:30)
Join us for an online workshop about the application process for our UGS Scholarships (PGR) for 2024-25, led by Dr. Holly Prescott, an experienced PGR Careers Advisor.
The UGS recruits ten postgraduate researchers (PGRs) each year to act as UGS Scholars (PGR), to support our postgraduate community, initiate and deliver community building activities, and help plan and deliver a Postgraduate Research Festival in June 2025. The Scholarship runs until July 2025 and confers a £2,500 bursary, for a flexible commitment of around half a day a week.
If you are passionate about delivering postgraduate research events and building interdisciplinary communities, then you might just have what it takes to be a UGS Scholar!
Get top tips on how to put together a UGS Scholarship application that will attract the short-listers’ attention at this application workshop.
The workshop will help you:
• Identify what the short-listers are looking for in your application
• Recognise what makes a strong application, by comparing and contrasting some example applications
• Apply the advice covered to your own application
The tips covered will also be useful for you when you come to writing future applications for jobs, postdocs and other opportunities. You'll also have the chance to ask any questions you have to our PGR Careers Advisor Dr Holly Prescott.
Please note: Joining information (Zoom link) will be sent via your confirmation email, and in an Eventbrite email on the day of the event. Please check your junk folder or contact the Graduate School if you do not receive the link before the event.
The event will be recorded for those who can't make it - please register as normal to receive the recording via email after the workshop has finished.
