Postgrad Welcome Social with the University Graduate School! (In-Person)

Another academic year is upon us, which means it is time to welcome a new cohort of Postgraduate Taught (PGT) students and Postgraduate Researchers (PGR), as well as to say hello to plenty of familiar faces too!

This event will give you the chance to meet your fellow postgraduates, make new connections, build your community, and help you to settle into another academic year. Whether you're starting your Master's degree, finishing the final year of your PhD, or are somewhere in between, we welcome all postgraduates at the University of Birmingham to join us!

Our Welcome social will include:

• Free soft drinks and snacks (crisps, sweets, etc.)
• Our "Global Community" area! Chat with postgrads from both the UK and around the world, and pin yourself on our map!
• Lots of games! Get competitive with giant Jenga, Connect 4, Draughts, and Chess!
• "PhD Corner"! Learn more about the PhD journey, speak with your UGS (PGR) Scholars, and talk about your worries and hopes!
• A crafts and board games area for quieter activities.
• A free raffle! Stay until the end of the event and be in with a chance to win one of our wonderful prizes!

Please note that alcohol will not be served at this event.

This event is open only to University of Birmingham postgraduate taught students (PGTs) and postgraduate researchers (PGRs).

PGT programmes include: MA, MSc, MBA, MEd, LLM, MPH, Maths SKE, MPA, PG Affiliate, PG Certificate, PG Dip Ed, PG Diploma, and PGCE.

PGR programmes include: MPhil, MMus, MRes, MA by Research, MSc by Research, MLitt, PhD, PhD with integrated study, EngD, DDS, MD, Higher doctorates and Professional doctorates.

Registration will close 15 mins before the event start time or when tickets are sold out. We will be checking attendees against the Eventbrite registration and you may be refused entry if we have met capacity and you are not on the list. We have limited capacity so please cancel your ticket if you can no longer attend.
