PGT Essentials: Managing your Research Project

Research skills are an important part of postgraduate study, whether you're tackling Semester Two assignments or the start of your dissertation. But managing your research project for the first time can be overwhelming and unfamiliar - how can you plan your time most effectively? What is a research question? What does a supervisor expect from you? Where do you start?

Join the University Graduate School and the Academic Skills Centre for this online workshop on research skills, approaches and methods, followed by a Q&A where you can ask any questions related to research, finding study materials, or tackling large research-based projects.

The workshop covers:

• Time management strategies for a large project;
• Working with your supervisor;
• Choosing and defining a research question;
• What the process of research might look like,
• Where to start!
• Plus Q&A.

This event is open only to University of Birmingham postgraduate taught students (PGT).

PGT programmes include: MA, MSc, MBA, MEd, LLM, MPH, Maths SKE, MPA, PG Affiliate, PG Certificate, PG Dip Ed, PG Diploma, and PGCE.
