PhD Chat: Life of an International Student in the UK

Being a PhD researcher is a hugely rewarding journey in many ways, but can also involve challenges. Any questions or concerns you have will be shared by others, so talking to fellow researchers can help you on your PhD journey.

Our PhD Chat sessions are led by current PGRs (our UGS Scholars), so you can meet other PGRs, ask questions and learn more about support that is available, whilst also sharing your own experiences and helping others. Each session involves an introduction to a specific topic related to pursuing a PhD, followed by informal group discussion and experience sharing.

This PhD Chat is especially for international students now living in the UK, in any year of their programme. We'll talk about some common concerns (settling in, dealing with challenges, figuring out cultural differences…) and it'll be a great chance to meet some fellow PGRs over a cup of tea or coffee - come chat!
