Welcome all postgraduate taught (PGT) students!

This online workshop will act as a refresher of study skills and expectations, and will explore what it means to 'step-up' from an undergraduate degree or return to Higher Education as a postgraduate. You'll also have the opportunity to ask any academic or study-related questions you have.

The workshop is designed for all incoming PGT students, but may be particularly valuable for students who have had a gap between their undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, due to their career, childcare, or any other reason.

We'll be joined by an academic expert from the Academic Skills Centre (part of Library Services), and together we'll give an overview of returning to education including:

  • What to expect at university and what is expected of you;
  • How to develop key skills such as critical thinking, communication, time management, finding library resources and note taking;
  • Strategies for study success.

All followed by a Q&A at the end.

The event will be recorded for those who can't make it - please register as normal to receive the recording via email after the workshop has finished.
