Free period products for all postgraduates

The University Graduate School is launching a project to provide free period products to all postgraduates. Free period products give peace of mind to everyone who has periods, whether you need further support during the cost-of-living crisis, want to try more sustainable products or are simply caught short.

We have a stock of free period products available in the foyer of Westmere House (G15 on the campus map), to the right of the front door as you enter. Products include a range of packs of tampons and disposable pads, as well as a growing selection of reusable products. All disposable period products are organic and made from sustainable materials that are both good for you and the planet.

We also have a caught short initiative, with dispensers and loose tampons and pads being made available in the woman’s and disabled/gender neutral toilets downstairs at Westmere House.

All postgraduates can come to Westmere House 10am-4pm any weekday, excluding University closed days and public holidays. Just ring the buzzer to gain entry to the foyer area.

If you are a postgraduate researcher, your University ID card should give you access to Westmere House (the PGR Community Hub) from 6am-10pm any day including weekends, but still excluding University closed days and public holidays.

Our period products are provided for all people who menstruate.

This scheme is a part of the University Graduates Schools sustainability initiatives, and helps support aims of no poverty, reduced inequalities and responsible consumption and production. Read more about our sustainability objectives.

Please help yourself to the products you need, in the quantities you need!
