The institution holds a series of annual doctoral studentship competitions that span a vast range of academic disciplines, and are funded by the following Research Councils:
The annual cycle for these funding competitions runs from the beginning of semester one in October. Submissions are considered in the subsequent year from January and studentships are awarded between April and June, depending on the Research Council.
