Free webinar: Gambling: What's the harm?
Gambling can sometimes show up in student life through things like sports betting, gaming or online casinos. For many people it stays casual, but for some it can start to affect your mental health, finances, relationships or academic life.
This free webinar Gambling: What’s the harm? will explore the effects of gambling and what support is available if you or someone you know is struggling.
Taking place on Monday 23 March from 12.00 to 13.30, this webinar will bring together researchers, clinicians and people with lived experience to talk about the realities of gambling-related harm and how recovery and support are possible. We’re hosting the session in collaboration with YGAM, a UK charity that works to prevent gambling harm among young people.
The webinar will be chaired by Professor Ed Day and will feature speakers including Jessica Parker from YGAM, Julie Westrupp from the Midlands NHS Gambling Service, and Luke Trainor from Better Than Well, who will share insights on prevention, treatment and recovery.
The session is designed to be a supportive and non-judgemental space, focusing on practical information, recovery and the support available if you need it. Information about confidential support services will also be shared during and after the event, including University support, NHS services and specialist charities.
