It's Time to Vote in the Guild Officer Elections
What are the Guild Officer Elections?
Each year the Guild of Students elects a new Officer Team who will lead the students’ union and ensure your voice is represented to the Guild and the University. Candidates put themselves forward during their application period and you now have the chance to look through their candidate profiles and cast your vote. Voting closes on Friday 13 March at 4pm.
There are seven full-time officers whose roles focus on everything from welfare to sports, education and activities. The Guild also have six part-time officers for you to vote for so make sure to look through all the candidates and vote for the person you think will best represent the issues that matter most to you.
Why Should I Vote?
Voting in the Guild Officer Elections is your democratic right and your chance to shape decision-making at UoB. Whether you’re passionate about academia, welfare or the cost of living, your Officer Team can drive change, working on the things that you care most about.
On top of all of that, to thank you for voting the Guild have some incredible prizes up for grabs, including the chance to win £1,000! Some other incredible prizes you could win include: a £250 travel voucher, a £25 Sainsbury’s voucher and final year voters have the chance of winning a Grad Ball Priority Pass! The Guild are also giving out 1000 free mini pizzas on Tuesday 10 March – just head down to Mermaid Square at the Guild, bring your student ID claim your free pizza! T&Cs apply.
How Do I Vote?
To vote in the Officer Elections head to the Guild’s website and vote for the candidates that you’d like to see lead the Guild – it couldn’t be easier! Voters can rank as many or as few candidates as they like and put them in the order of preference. To find out more about the voting process, visit the Guild’s Election webpage.
So, whether you’re an undergraduate, postgraduate, in your first year or your final year – your voice matters! Only you can decide who will run the Guild for the next academic year so make sure you have your say. Be sure to get your vote in today!
