We've been named The Times & Sunday Times Sport University of the Year!

Whether you’ve rocked a UoB kit, supported BUCS from the sidelines or made use of our state-of-the-art Sport & Fitness facilities, we have some exciting news for you. The University of Birmingham has been named The Times & Sunday Times Sport University of the Year!

The award adds to a growing list of recognitions including Sport at UoB being placed 9th in the latest QS World University Rankings by Subject.

This title recognises 80 years of leadership in sport and physical education, celebrating outstanding contributions to sport, athlete development, research and community engagement. Our commitment to excellence is a track record that goes beyond campus, in-fact it goes as far as the Olympic stage.

Birmingham’s sporting impact is reflected in the achievements of world-class alumni including Olympic medallist Georgia Hunter Bell, England international swimmer Ollie Morgan, and former world championship medallist and Olympian Hannah England!

With UoB already climbing 23 places to 68th in this year’s QS World University Rankings, consider this our victory lap. This title is earned by every student, coach, club and researcher, that made it possible and we’re excited to see what we’re going to achieve next.
