Are you ready to 'Countdown to Christmas' with us?
The festive season is almost here! We’re counting down to Christmas with a packed programme of events and activities to spread some joy this winter. So, take some time out in the run up to Christmas and enjoy the festivities on campus.
Lighting up campus and a gift from Santa
Kicking off the celebrations on Thursday 1 December is our Christmas Fair in the Bramall building atrium (upstairs) between 12-5pm. Head to Santa's grotto and get your selfie taken with the big man himself, plus grab yourself a free festive gift (available to the first 100 students – don't miss out!). Stick around to see Santa push the button for our annual Christmas tree light switch on at Chancellor’s Court at 5pm. Don’t forget to look up for a festive surprise on Old Joe!
A free ride for all
There’s more Christmas magic on campus during Graduation Week (Monday 5 to Friday 9 December) as students, staff and graduands will be able to take a FREE ride on our traditional carousel located on the Green Heart amphitheatre from 11am to 6pm each day. Don’t forget to share your snaps and videos using the hashtag #UoBChristmas.
Full festive programme
But that's not all.
Throughout December, there will be lots of events and activities happening on and off campus for everyone to get involved in from day trips to the delightful Birmingham German markets to Christmas craft sessions. A corner of the Main Library will be transformed into a mini winter wonderland, so you can still experience some festive joy as you study or relax with friends.
And if you enjoy a festive singsong, come along to the University's annual Carol Service concert on Monday 12 December at 6.15pm in the prestigious Great Hall. You can find a full list of what’s happening over the next few weeks (Christmas or not) on our What’s On for Students intranet page.
