Student Hub Launch Event

The Student Hub Launch Event will take place on the evening of Wednesday 3 February 2016 from 5:30pm - 8:00pm.

Overview

The launch event will be an opportunity to bring together those involved in the planning and implementation of the Student Hub, as well as representing those using its services, working in the space and other University stakeholders. We are excited about this event and look forward to showcasing all that the Student Hub offers our students.

You will have the chance to see the new Student Hub space, as well as join one of the building tours running from 7:15pm. To confirm your place on a tour please do let us know on your RSVP.

 

The event will feature a range of activities including:

  • live performance from a student acapella group
  • addresses from Sir Professor David Eastwood, Vice-Chancellor and other guests
  • the awarding of the winner of the Student Hub Photo Competition whereby the winner and runners up will have their images displayed in and around the Student Hub
  • the unveiling of the Student Hub plaque and the official opening of the Student Hub

Event schedule

Please note changes to the original schedule

5:30pm: Event opens with drinks and canapés being served and an opportunity to explore the Student Hub space and view the photo competition short-listed entries.

6:00pm: Guests to take their seats in the Aston Webb Main Lecture Theatre for the beginning of the event. 

6:15pm: Student group performance.

6:30pm: Addresses from the Vice-Chancellor and other guests and the presentation of the prize to the Student Hub photo competition winner.

7:05pm: Unveiling of the Student Hub plaque.

7:15pm: Networking and opportunity to go on a Student Hub tour.

8:00pm: Close.

Directions

Free parking is available on campus and plenty of spaces are located in the Chancellor’s Court which is accessible from the University’s Main East Gate entrance.

Guests will be received in the main Aston Webb Building reception area. If you have access requirements, please enter through the Bramall Building.

If you are not familiar with the campus, you can find the Aston Webb Building at R6 and the Bramall Building at R12 on the main campus map
