I am a distance learning student, how do I get a student ID card?

Inside UK

If you are a UK national who is starting a course with us in September and completed Online Registration between July and the first week of September, your student ID card will be sent automatically to your home address (UK only) on record.

If you start your course later in the academic year or your did not complete registration between the above period and you cannot visit campus, you can request for your card to be posted by completing our request form.

Please Note: if you are a non-UK national, you may be required to complete a Right to Study check if you require your card to access facilities or are required to attend in-person teaching for your programme. Please ensure you complete your right to study check prior to requesting your card.

Outside the UK

If you are completing your distance learning outside the UK, there will be a £30 DHL charge for delivery of your ID card. For more information, please read our 'accessing the Aston Webb Student Hub' webpage.

The ID card issued will be for identify your are a student of the University of Birmingham only and will nor work for building access on campus should you visit.
