Should I disclose my disability? How and when?

There are various opportunities to disclose, both prior to admission and at any stage during your time at University. If you choose not to disclose your disability or to limit that disclosure, although we will do our best to help you, you may not be able to access the full range of support available.

You can disclose your disability at the point of application, on your UCAS form and by completing an application to register with our Student Disability Service. Should you disclose a disability, we aim to ensure that appropriate support is put in place for you. This will require us to notify other staff within the University so we need your consent and also your contact details.

It’s important that you do this as soon as possible so that we can discuss your requirements with you and ensure support and adjustments are in place for you when you need them. Please note that there may be deadlines for receiving applications for exam adjustments; please see more information on our Disability Service webpages.

All of your disability-related information will be stored electronically and processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018.
