Why might I need a proof of study letter?
Your proof of study letter on Gradintelligence is a dynamic document that updates throughout your academic journey. For example, if you change your address, the letter will reflect this. Content may also be added or removed based on your academic record. Once you graduate and become a leaver, the letter is finalised and will no longer update. This means, based on your registration status, your letter can be used for a variety of purposes including:
- To confirm your student status (including externally registered or leave of absence)
- To open a bank account
- To apply for Council Tax exemption
- To apply for a travel visa
- To support a visa application for guests to attend your graduation
- To confirm your award and/or dates of attendance
- To confirm term dates (please note, we no longer include dates on the letter, however, it provides a link to our website where this information can be verified)
- To confirm first thesis submission (PhD only)
Please note: The Student Hub Services team are unable to stamp printed versions of this letter.
If you studied before 2002 you will need to request a pre-2002 proof of study letter.
