The Library's Research Skills Team offers a range of training opportunities for researchers.

Other opportunities

Tea with a research librarian

Each Tuesday, at 15:00-16:00 (except 11 April and 18 April), one of our Research Skills Advisors makes themselves a cup of tea and waits patiently for your questions.   Join them via Zoom to keep them company, and ask anything research skills or library-related.

  • Library collections and resources
  • Doing excellent literature searching
  • Managing your references
  • Basics of managing data
  • Setting up an ORCID
  • Research metrics
  • Curating your online publication profile
  • Anything else library related you've always wanted to ask - no question too basic!

PGRs can access the link from their Canvas course.  Staff can email us for the Zoom link.

Coffee mornings in the Researcher suite

On the first Thursday of each month, 11.00-12.00, the Research Skills Team host a relaxed coffee morning in the first floor Researcher Suite in the Main Library.  Join us for a cuppa and a biscuit, and a chat about anything library-related.

Upcoming dates:

  • Thursday 4 May 2023
  • Thursday 1 June 2023
  • Thursday 6 July 2023
  • Further dates (from September 2023) will follow.

No need to book, just turn up.
