Literature Searching: hints and tips for researchers (workshop)
Researchers are required to stay up-to-date with an ever-expanding corpus of academic literature. With a number of databases, search engines, discovery tools and techniques at their disposal, the process of searching for and accessing academic literature can feel complicated, messy and overwhelming. This workshop will explore a range of hints and tips to help researchers get the most out of their literature search.
Workshops will be held on the following dates. Please select your preferred date to book your place via SuperSaas - you will need to register for a password if you are using this for the first time.
Literature Searching for a Systematic Review (workshop)
Carrying out a systematic literature search is an integral part of a Systematic Review. This workshop will provide guidance on how to: plan an effective search strategy; identify appropriate keyword and subject heading databases; incorporate search techniques such as Boolean, truncation and proximity operators; and how to export and manage results ahead of the screening process. It is suitable for any researcher undertaking either a Systematic Review or similar (e.g. Rapid Review, Scoping Review etc), or any researcher wishing to adopt a systematic approach to their literature searching.
Literature Searching for Researchers online Canvas course
Our self-enrol Literature Searching for Researchers Canvas course provides teaching on developing a search strategy, using that to undertake a literature search, keeping the resulting records of your search and offers tips and techniques to maximise effectiveness.
