The College operates a ‘binless’ paper recycling scheme for non-confidential waste thus, providing staff with a recycling scheme to reduce the amount of waste being sent to landfill.
Recycling sub-stations are available in various locations around the Medical School, including one in the Staff Common room to offer the recycling of: cans, plastic, paper and cardboard.

Remote Access allows you to do your work and access your University data from anywhere. To set up Remote Access, please follow the steps in the Remote Access Service: Introduction.
Researchfish is the system by which you report your research findings to funders. Researchfish is currently used by many public and charitable research funding agencies (including the UK Research Councils, the BHF, Arthritis Research UK, Cancer Research UK, and NIHR). Further information is available here.
The Research Development and Support Team of the Research and Knowledge Transfer Office provides strategic input and support for the identification of funding opportunities, preparing research applications (including project budgets and scheme specific documents), approvals, implementation and management processes.
The "Intention to Submit" document is an obligatory requirement for submitting a research grant. Please notify the Research Development and Support team through their email address (stated below), making sure to include an “CMH” or Department acronym tag in the email subject.
Your Research facilitator will be able to guide you through the internal and external processes for submission of research applications. The Research Development and Support Team have internal deadlines for management of projects to allow for internal sign-offs to be completed.

Your new starter induction pack should provide details of your finance contacts. Alternatively, please contact your Institute Management Team who will provide you with the names names of your local Finance Administrator and also the name of your Research Services Support Administrator, who will help you to manage your grant.
University-managed Rooms:
Web Room Booking (link only available on campus) is an online room booking service, which allows staff to book centrally-managed space for non-teaching events (e.g. events which are not linked to a module). It is integrated with the Common Timetabling System.

All Medical School rooms can be booked via the Web Room Booking (link only available on campus). If further assistance is required with rooms in the Medical School email your request to: MED-timetabling@bham.ac.uk.
- Occupational & Environmental Medicine
IOEM small seminar and large seminar rooms can be booked by emailing Kevin Shepherd.
- Public Health
Rooms G03, G04, G05, G09a and Room 113 can be booked by emailing Kevin Shepherd.

- The Murray Learning Centre
There are four meeting rooms available on the second floor, 221, 223, 224 and 226. These can be booked through Kevin Shepherd.
- Biosciences (IMI) Rooms
Bookings should be made via any of the following personnel: Leah Thompson or Jessica Heaven.
- Institute for Biomedical Research (IBR)
IBR room bookings (including IBR West) should be made via Nadene Bryan or Diane O'Reilly (it is recommended to email both with your booking).
- Institute for Translational Medicine (ITM)
ITM rooms can be booked by sending an email to Institute for Translational Medicine (ITM) Reception via itmenquiries@contacts.bham.ac.uk further information can be found in the ITM Room Booking Guide. N.B. The ITM only books out the Cafe room for a full day, not by the hour.
- QEH Education Centre Room Bookings
These can only booked by staff with a UHB desktop from the UHB staff webpage, under departments. To book a room within the QEH Education Centre please complete the request form and send to ECBookings.QEH@uhb.nhs.uk. Should you need to book catering for a meeting in the QEH, please complete both a QEHB catering form and a UoB PORD and email the QEHB form to cateringhospitalityrequests@uhb.nhs.uk, email both forms to colmds-orders@contacts.bham.ac.uk.
- QEH Meeting Room within the UBRL
The large meeting room within the UBRL can be booked via Rachel Dearn.
