Meet the Team: Alumni Relations

The Alumni Relations Team is here to deliver bespoke events, tailored communications and a variety of volunteer opportunities, which encourage graduates to directly support the Business School’s ambition, objectives and targets in areas such as student recruitment, enhancing the student experience and curriculum development.

Some of the projects we are involved in include:

• The MBA Distinguished Leaders’ Series
• Student mentoring opportunities
• Developing alumni ambassadors
• Bringing in expert alumni speakers to enhance recruitment events and provide students with real-world projects and career opportunities

We are all new members of staff with a wide variety of experience across the voluntary sector, executive recruitment, local government, the civil service and higher education. We also form part of the wider College Alumni Relations Team and also link in with the central DABE (Development, Alumni and Business Engagement) team.

You can find us on the first floor of University House in Room 143, so please come in and say hello. We split our time between the Business School and the College Hub in Muirhead Tower, but there will always be a member of the team on hand.

Laura Martin, Alumni Relations Officer

"I work mainly with our Undergraduate and MSc alumni. I’m also responsible for producing alumni communications like Your Network and BBS Bitesize, and developing engagement opportunities that keep alumni in touch with their Business School, wherever they may be now."

Ella Stewart, MBA Alumni Relations Officer 

"I am responsible for developing, planning and implementing alumni relations activity for the MBA programmes. I proactively encourage alumni to participate within external rankings, manage the Distinguished Leaders lecture series and develop a range of alumni volunteering opportunities – including the alumni ambassadors programme - which support the growth of the MBA and it students."

"I assist the team in all Alumni Relations activity, including events, communications, managing our social media channels and acting as a point of contact for alumni – related queries. Projects I am involved with include alumni profiles, reunions, graduations and AVDs."
