2014 Midlands Regional Doctoral Colloquium at Nottingham Business School

On Friday 11 April, 25 of our Doctoral students travelled to Nottingham to take part in the Midlands Regional Doctoral Colloquium which was hosted by the Nottingham Business School following the very successful Colloquium hosted by the Birmingham Business School last year. 10 of our students presented papers at the Colloquium over four disciplines: Management, Marketing, Operations Management and Information Systems and Finance and Economics.

The colloquium was thought provoking, offered a strong multidisciplinary spirit and was an excellent opportunity for early career researchers to present their ideas in a supportive and collegiate environment. The programme included:

  • Interactive carousel sessions relevant to early career researchers
  • Awards for best papers - Bing Liu, a second year Economics PhD student won the best paper award in the Finance and Economics stream.
  • Networking
