The Quick Colleague Catch-up
Each month we catch-up with a different colleague from within Birmingham Business School to ask them 10 questions; five related to their job and life at the Business School, the other five quizzing them about their interests, memories and hobbies.
First up; Louise Fearn, Business School Programmes Manager.
What I do…
Programmes Manager. In brief, I manage the new External Partnerships and Student Learning and Support posts as well as the Programme Office Teams. My role is to provide the underpinning support for the school’s expansion in teaching over the next few years, as well as taking a strategic and operational view of the activity required to support the School’s academic strategy.
Best thing about working at Birmingham Business School…
The brilliant people I work with and the view from my office window
Favourite thing or place on campus…
Circuit training on the roof space by IT Services
Where to go for the best food and drink on campus…
Costa at the Guild
If I were to start a lunchtime club…
it would involve knitting. Be sure to read about 'the big knit' happening here at the Business School.
In my spare time…
If I’m not doing some form of outdoor exercise, I’m probably doing knitting or crochet whilst eating biscuits
Proudest moment or achievement…
Learning to ice climb, badly, but I eventually got to the top. Crampons and ice axes were brandished…the horror
Favourite book or current read…
Too many favourites to pick one, current read is Blonde by Joyce Carol Oates
Earliest memory…
Giving my little sister rides around the garden on the back of my racing green tricycle
If I could only ever watch three films ever again, they would be…
(Don’t judge) Point Break, Devil Wears Prada, Any film where everything explodes – it’s cathartic!
