Academics celebrate Chinese New Year

On Sunday 21st February, Dr Yufeng Zhang and Dr Tao Zhang hosted a special event at the Business School to celebrate the Chinese Lantern Festival.

The Lantern Festival is one of the most important Chinese traditional festivals, and takes place on the 15th day of the first Chinese lunar month, marking the end of Chinese New Year celebrations. Chinese colleagues from all over the University gathered together at the Business School for celebrations and networking. During the celebration, colleagues enjoyed a variety of Chinese traditional activities, including dancing and singing. This provided an invaluable opportunity for those present to share and exchange their research interests from different disciplines. The most welcome performance well received by the audience was perhaps a lecture on Gravitational Waves. The audience applauded Yufeng and Tao’s efforts to host such an interesting event and would also like to show their thankfulness to the Business school for providing the support which facilitated the event.
