saul-becker

Dear Colleagues

I am delighted to announce the appointment of Professor Saul Becker to the post of Pro-Vice-Chancellor and Head of the College of Social Sciences. Saul will join us in August 2014 when Edward Peck leaves to take up his new role as Vice-Chancellor of Nottingham Trent University.

Saul's appointment follows an international search for an outstanding candidate and he joins us from the University of Nottingham where he is currently Professor of Social Policy and Social Care. As Assistant Pro-Vice-Chancellor (International) and Director of Research for the Faculty of Social Sciences, Saul brings an impressive academic track record. He is a highly-effective leader with a clear vision. I am sure you will want to join me in congratulating him on his appointment.

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Edward for his leadership and considerable achievements during his time here and wish him every success in his new role.

Professor David Eastwood
