Exam dates
Please ensure you are available for all the dates during the January, main summer exam period and the supplementary exam period.
Please note, these are the dates of the centrally-organised exams. Your School or Department may organise exams outside of these times. Please contact your School or Department for more information.
January Exam period
Monday 13th to Saturday 18th January 2025
(Including the Saturday)
Main Summer Exam period
Saturday 10th May to Saturday 7th June 2025
(Including Saturdays, but excluding Sundays and Bank Holidays)
Supplementary Exam period
Monday 18th August to Friday 29th August 2025
(Excluding Bank Holidays and Weekends)
Exam start times
- All morning exams start at 9.30am.
- All afternoon exams start at 2.00pm.
Please ensure you arrive at the exam venue at least 20 minutes before your exam is due to start, this is to enable you to be seated in a timely fashion and for you to hear the exam announcements.

Accessing Your Examination Timetable
If you have examinations during one of the centrally managed examination periods, you will be able to access your examination timetable via the MyUoB app from the dates given above. This will provide your examination dates, times, duration, location and seat number (if you are sitting the examination on campus).
You may also have examinations during the examination period that have been scheduled by your School. If this is the case, they will be in touch with details regarding your examinations and when and where they will take place.

Students with a Reasonable Adjustment Plan or Student Support Advice
Specific details of alternative exam venues will usually be provided on your personal timetable if you have a Reasonable Adjustment Plan (RAP) or Student Support Advice (SSA).
If your timetable indicates that your exam venue is Departmental then your School/Department will provide you with the details of your exam venue at a later date.
Your personal timetable will not include any extra time or rest breaks, the Invigilator in the venue will have this information.
Problems accessing your timetable
If you cannot view your personal exam timetable, once the timetable has been released, please log a call with the IT Service Desk.
Incorrect or missing information on your timetable
If you have an exam missing or an incorrect exam on your timetable, please contact your School immediately, so they can provide you with the details of the correct exam.
If two of your exams have been scheduled for the same time please contact the Exam office immediately by emailing exams@contacts.bham.ac.uk. You may have exams with duplicated titles, so please check that the assessment codes for the exams are different before contacting us.
