The Freelancer Club is a freelancing community online platform designed for new and established freelancers and it enables students to gain access to business training, support and paid opportunities. We have joined forces with the amazing Freelancer Club and expert Matt Dowling to bring you great tools to get started and a community which offers tonnes of support, whatever stage you are at on your freelancing journey.

Funding for your freelance idea

Are you looking for £100 to get your freelance venture started? To apply to the Freelance Fund please click the link below.

Funding

If you have an idea and would like to test it, you can apply for funding to help you get started. University of Birmingham students (or recent graduates of up to 2 years) can apply for £500 on the B-Enterprising Ideas Fund which allows you to grow an idea and find your first customers. Or are you looking for a smaller amount to get started on your Freelance journey? You could apply to our £100 Freelancing Friday Fund instead.

If you have already registered a business or as self-employed, then you may be eligible to apply for the B-Enterprising Start-Up Fund. Please note our funding is subject to eligibility so please check our Funding page before making an application. 

Business Start-Up 1-2-1 appointments

Speak to an adviser about your idea and get tips on what to do next. We run face-to-face appointments and online appointments via zoom. Book an appointment by visiting our Business Start-Up Advice appointments webpage or contact us directly by emailing us.
