Raffaela (BSc Psychology, 2001) is Chief People Officer at Birmingham’s Women's and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, where she leads the organisation’s wide ranging people strategies, alongside her Board leadership role.  Alongside this, she is a Founding member and Trustee of Aston University STEM Multi Academy Trust, supporting the development of inclusive education and leadership in STEM fields.

In recognition of her leadership and influence, Raffaela was named by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) as one of the top 30 inspirational and impactful HR leaders globally in the inaugural CIPD HR30 list. She was recognised for her work in helping change the law around paid miscarriage leave and for creating the Universal Family Programme, which provides young care leavers with career opportunities in the NHS.

Raffaela’s career spans more than two decades in people leadership across the public sector in both local government and health, with a strong focus on organisational development, employee engagement and workforce wellbeing including sexual safety. Her previous experience includes recruitment roles in private sector.

Raffaela’s areas of expertise and professional passions include women’s and children’s health, education opportunities for girls, inclusion, people and HR management, education and leadership.
