Sarah may be of interest to students of Politics, Social Policy and Economics and those with an interest in project or programme management and business management.

Having studied BCom, Industrial Economics & Business Studies, International Banking & Finance, Sarah went on to spend ten years in Group Life Development for Commercial Union. In 2004, she moved to work in the Cabinet Office as Director of Strategy, Planning and Performance and worked at the very heart of government and the civil service for five years, until she moved to work for London 2012 planning the 2012 Olympics. Her role included liaison with ministers and stakeholders, and she was part of the Cabinet Office Olympics Secretariat during the Olympics overseeing strategic operational issues.Sarah then worked for the Department of Work and Pensions where she was Director of the Deliver in Business Transformation Group covering digital and project delivery capability having also led the department’s work on Pensions Transformation. Sarah was appointed the new Chief Operating Officer for Ofgem in May 2016. Sarah is currently the RTGS Renewal Programme Director at the Bank of England, appointed in April 2021 to lead the renewal of the RTGS system.
