Love to travel and see the world? Looking for ways to develop new skills? Want to make a difference in the world?

We have a wide range of summer opportunities to study or volunteer across the globe! Click here to enrol on our Go Global Summer 2024 canvas course, where you can find out more about what opportunities are available, how to apply by 2 February and funding eligibility.

We have categorised some of the opportunities to help with your research and budgeting. Here are some suggestions for you to consider:

  1. Fully funded: little to no cost for students
  • Volunteering in Morocco, Atlas Outreach programme – flights, programme and accommodation all paid for by UoB, involves fundraising for a charity before the programme.

See here for more details on this exciting opportunity in Morocco!

  • Summer camps in USA, American Summers – paid 9-week opportunity, involves some up-front costs
  • More opportunities may become available in January

  1. Significant funding contribution: each opportunity is marked with information about other anticipated costs e.g. accommodation, flights, living costs. Students who fall under the Widening Participation categories are eligible to receive a higher grant through the Turing Scheme, which acts as a significant contribution towards the cost of taking part, especially in the below opportunities:

  • Aarhus University, Denmark
  • Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China (U21 funding available)
  • Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China

  1. Exchange places available: this means there are no programme/tuition fees involved; however other costs may be an additional consideration. Each opportunity is marked with information about other anticipated costs e.g. accommodation, flights, living costs. You are eligible to receive Turing Scheme funding as a contribution towards these costs.
