Birmingham Scholar Iftar 2026

Creating opportunity is central to the Birmingham Scholar experience - but so is creating community.

This March, we brought our Birmingham Scholars together for a special evening of reflection, connection and celebration at the Birmingham Scholar Iftar 2026 - an event designed to honour the spirit of Ramadan while strengthening the bonds within our Birmingham Scholar community.

What is Iftar?

Iftar is the meal that marks the breaking of the daily fast observed by Muslims during Ramadan.

While Iftar holds deep religious significance, this event was open to all Birmingham Scholars - whether observing Ramadan or simply wanting to learn, connect and share in an evening that celebrates the diversity of our community.

Our goal is simple: to create a space where scholars feel seen, valued and connected.

Why This Event Matters

Belonging is a powerful driver of student success.

Events like the Birmingham Scholar Iftar are not just social gatherings - they are part of a wider commitment to:

  • Foster inclusive spaces

  • Celebrate cultural and religious diversity

  • Strengthen peer networks

  • Support student wellbeing

  • Build a sense of shared identity within the scholar community

By creating opportunities for meaningful interaction, we help ensure that Birmingham Scholars don’t just succeed academically and professionally - they feel that they truly belong.
