Birmingham Scholar Spring Skills Series
Birmingham Scholar Spring Skills Series
On 25th March, we hosted the first session of the Spring Skills: Reset & Refocus series. It offered students a chance to step back and think more intentionally about studying and learning. With support from the Academic Skills Centre, the session encouraged students to reflect on their study strategies and have open conversations about what they found most challenging. Overall, the session created a positive space to reset, helping students leave with a clearer mindset and renewed confidence in their academic approach. We hope you found the insights from the Academic Skills Centre helpful, and that the strategies shared will support you in your studies moving forward. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed so positively, we hope you enjoyed the event and the pizzas!
The second session of the Spring Skills: Reset & Refocus series was hosted on the 26th March. This session shifted the focus beyond academics, creating space for students to think about their future and how to make the most of their experiences at university. With guidance from the Birmingham Award team, the discussion explored how skills develop over time can be recognised and applied towards the Birmingham Award. The session was designed to help students think about life beyond a degree and how they can stand out in a competitive job market. By the end of the session, there was a noticeable sense of clarity and direction, with many leaving feeling more confident about how to take their next steps. Thank you to everyone who came and took part over these two days. It was very nice to see you all and we hope you have a lovely Easter break. We look forward to seeing you again next term!
