Top Postgrad Events in Welcome

There is plenty going on for postgraduates over the Welcome period! Here’s our University Graduate School round-up of in-person and online events that we are especially looking forward to. There are many events that we can’t fit in here – please check out our Eventbrite for a full breakdown of all our events. 1. Postgrad Welcome Social with the University Graduate School

  • When: Tuesday 19 September, 15:00-19:00

We start our list with our biggest postgrad event of Welcome! With free soft drinks and snacks and plenty of games to play, this event will provide you with the perfect opportunity to meet your fellow postgrads.

2. PGT Essentials and PGR Essentials

  • When: ‘PGT Essentials: Getting Started as a PGT Student’, Thursday 21 September, 14:00-16:00; ‘PGT Essentials: Getting Started as an International PGT’, Thursday 28 September, 14:00-16:00; ‘PGR Essentials: Insider Secrets’, Wednesday 4 October, 11:00-12:00.

As a new postgrad, it’s important that you learn more about the University Graduate School and how we can support you, which is exactly what these induction sessions offer. Plus, you’ll get a chance to ask current or former postgrads about their experiences too!

3. Mental Health Workshops for Postgrads

  • When: ‘Starting & Managing a Conversation’, Tuesday 26 September, 13:00-14:30; ‘An Intro to Mental Health’, Monday 9 October, 13:00-14:30.

Together with Bloomwise, a mental health consultancy business set up by two UoB PGRs, the University Graduate School is offering two workshops during the Welcome period to get you talking about mental health and help you with developing strategies to look after your wellbeing.

4. Guild Postgrad Events
