Postgraduate Certificate in Advanced Research Methods and Skills (PGCARMS) modules

The following list shows the range of PGCARMS accredited modules that are available for eligible postgraduate researchers. Compulsory modules

  • Self Reflective Portfolio [10 credits] (compulsory for those registered onto the programme prior to the 2016/17 academic year and available as an optional module thereafter)

For BBSRC-funded students registered on the MIBTP programme prior to the 2016/17 academic year, the following modules are also compulsory:

  • Basic Quantitative Skills for Systems Biology [10 credits]
  • Professional Internship Placement (PIP) [10 credits]*
  • Team Work and Collaborative Working Skills [10 credits]
  • Statistics for Scientists Including Programming R [10 credits]

For BBSRC-funded students registered on the MIBTP programme from the 2016/17 academic year onwards, the following modules are compulsory:

  • Quantitative Skills for Systems Biology  [30 credits]
  • Professional Internship Placement (PIP) [10 credits]
  • Team Work and Collaborative Working Skills [10 credits]

*Please note that iCASE students will be able to use their industrial placement for their PIP module.
