Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected during their time at university. Looking out for each other is an important part of being in our student community. One way we can all help do this is by building a positive culture around relationships, sexual health and consent.

Lead the change

Through our 'Lead the Change' training course, you can learn more about healthy respectful relationships, boundaries and consent, recognising harmful behaviours, and how small actions can help make UoB a safer place for everyone. Whether you're in a relationship or not, it's important for everyone to understand consent so we can look out for each other.

Report + Support

Some of the topics covered may feel upsetting or challenging for those with personal experience of harassment, discrimination or sexual misconduct. We encourage you to engage with the content at your own pace and remember that help and support is always available for you or anyone you know.

We have a dedicated support page on harassment and sexual misconduct where you can find more resources, guidance, and help including how to reach out to our confidential Report + Support team.

Our Wellbeing section on the student intranet also has information on other support services both on and off campus. You're not alone, we're here to listen to you and support you.

How to complete the course

The 'Lead the Change' course is available for all UoB students to complete.

For undergraduate and postgraduate taught students, you'll find this course on Canvas, under the Student Support Development Hub. Under 'Required Training', click on 'Lead the Change' to start. For postgraduate researchers, you'll find the course under the Postgraduate Researcher Support and Development Hub.

The course is split into two modules: 'Creating cultures of consent' and 'Becoming an active bystander' - taking around 20 minutes for each module to complete.
